Data and Mapping Center

The TJPDC operates a Data and Mapping Center (DMC) for the purposes of managing demographic and spatial data and for providing Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis and mapping services. Services provided by the DMC support staff projects, local government members of the TJPDC, state agencies, non-member governments who are TJPDC participating jurisdictions, non-profit agencies, citizens or citizens groups, and private sector organizations. The DMC maintains a wide variety of spatial data most of which is available to the public. The DMC can produce thematic custom maps at any size up to 42” in width.

The DMC is also designated as an affiliate State Data Center (SDC). As an affiliate data center, the TJPDC is responsible for maintaining the basic affiliate collection of Census Bureau data products and reference materials as a public library.

The TJPDC also maintains a public library containing a searchable database of all hardcopy data in the collection. Materials are available to the public and can be checked-out free of charge.
