Promoting Fair HousingTJPDC has conducted an additional assessment of the state of fair housing and equity in Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville, to supplement the Analysis of Impediments of Fair Housing Choice adopted in 2011. The report was completed as a component of the Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant. The FHEA can be downloaded here. The assessment includes:

Update to the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice AdoptedThe 2011 update to the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice has been adopted by the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission and the Charlottesville City Council. This analysis is an important component of our region’s commitment to affirmatively further fair housing, and it provides focused direction for fair housing activities conducted throughout the region over the next five years. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice for all recipients of HOME and Community Development Block Grant funds. The Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice is a companion document to the Consolidated Plan and seeks to identify the current fair housing profile of the City of Charlottesville and the Thomas Jefferson Planning District. It identifies the impediments to fair housing choice that exist in our communities, the current public and private fair housing programs and activities in the area, and then draws conclusions and makes recommendations.
