Charlottesville Housing and Redevelopment Authority

The mission of the Charlottesville RHA is to provide affordable housing to low-income people and to assist low and moderate-income people in achieving economic independence and self sufficiency through such efforts as homeownership. Toward this goal, it administers 375 family units of public housing and over 400 voucher units. In addition, it makes deferred payment loans to first-time homebuyers whose income does not exceed 80 percent of the area median income. Such loans usually help to cover down payment and closing costs.

CRHA Partners represent diverse agencies in the community which serve our clients in common and meet quarterly at CRHA offices. The agency also operates a Housing Choice Voucher Homeownership program and is administering a Section 8 Mainstream Housing Program for the Elderly and Disabled. CRHA's FSS program covers public housing and Section 8 families.
