Executive Director Steve Williams will lead a discussion on the impacts of rapid growth and share observations on issues and solutions from his experiences in New England.

*Resolution on Schedule for New AMTRAK Service (Melissa Barlow)    8:15 – 8:35

Department of Rail and Public Transportation and AMTRAK have announced additional service from Lynchburg and Charlottesville to Washington, D.C. The schedule for this new service is not what was requested. The MPO Policy Board has asked that TJPDC join in supporting a resolution in favor of the requested schedule. Meredith Richards, Chairman of CvilleRail will be present for the discussion of the resolution.  Click here for Resolution

Transportation Housing Alliance (THA) Toolkit    (Billie Campbell)         8:35–8:50

There are two legislative initiatives of interest that are currently being followed by David Blount, TJPDC Legislative Liaison. The attached report describes the current status of those initiatives and his efforts on behalf of the member governments.  Click here for Report.

Status Report on Broadband and Energy Initiatives   (Steve Williams)    9:00–9:10

At previous meetings the Commission requested that staff work with the members to seek regional funding from the ARRA (stimulus package) for broadband telecommunications and energy. Click here for the memorandum that  describes the current status of those initiatives.
