Mobility Management: JAUNT has submitted a federal grant application to fund a Mobility Manager for an initial one year position. This is one of the objectives included in the Coordinated Human Service Mobility Plan. If funded, the grant would allow JAUNT to hire a planner to serve as a consultant to area agencies to help them use transportation resources more effectively, whether those resources are the agency’s own vehicles/drivers, JAUNT services, or other transportation options. In addition to working very closely with agencies on existing resources, the Mobility Manager would be charged with identifying gaps in services that prevent clients from accessing services that they need. Identifying these specific gaps is the first step in addressing them with service changes and new options. |
13. |
Fluvanna Intra-county Service: JAUNT has applied for a State Demonstration Grant to test out the feasibility of providing after school and Saturday transportation for Fluvanna youth. The primary target for this grant will be those young people who are participating in activities with the County’s Parks and Recreation Department, but can also be used for those kids who have jobs after school, as well as adults who want to travel within the County. The Board of Supervisors has approved funding the local match for this project that would provide two vehicles on weekdays that would circulate to each corner of the county; Saturday one vehicle would circulate. |
