Places29: Public workshops are scheduled for Thursday, May 18 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sutherland Middle School. On May 18, attendees will be introduced to the three Initial Framework Alternatives during two presentations, one at 5:30 p.m. and the other at 7:00 p.m. There will also be tables featuring other Places29 concepts and issues. The tables will be staffed so questions can be answered. On May 20, small groups will have a facilitator and a workbook for your comments. Each Framework Alternative will be presented individually for consideration and comment.

Clean Commute Day: RideShare and the Commuter Information Team (JAUNT, Charlottesville Transit Service, University Transit Service, and Greene County Transit) are hosting Clean Commute Day 2006 Friday, May 5^th from 11am to 2pm at Washington Park in Charlottesville. This statewide celebration, co-sponsored by the American Lung Association, is an opportunity to inform the public about how they can become cleaner commuters and the benefits of doing so.
