The administrative team has continued to work on the financial reports, and will present a revised report for the quarter ending December 31, 2005 at the meeting. The report will be reviewed with Treasurer David Wyant immediately prior to the meeting.

TJPDC Nominations Committee                 (Grant Tate)                8:45 – 9:00

The Bylaws call for the Chair to appoint a nominating committee consisting of at least three Commissioners at the April meeting. Election of officers will take place at the June 1 meeting. The slate needs to be sent to Commissioners by May 19.

10.      

PWN Update: A memo from PWN Director Todd Palmquist is enclosed updating the Commission on the Piedmont Workforce Network (PWN).

The Rural Transportation Planning Grant. The application for a planning grant for Ruckersville was submitted March 15. A copy of the letter of intent is enclosed, providing additional detail over the conceptual descriptions provided for the TJPDC resolution adopted at the March meeting.

Places29: Fact Sheets on the Places29 project are being distributed on a periodic basis in preparation for the public workshops scheduled for May 18 and 20. The Fact Sheets are available on the transportation page of the TJPDC web site and on the Albemarle County web site.

13.      

Heritage Tourism Toolkit: The International Tourism Research Institute has completed a rough draft of the chapter on the Heritage Toolkit and Map for Best Practices in Southern Tourism and Destination Management. They have requested review and comment, particularly the additional economic impact data or chronology dates, by April 4th. The draft chapter is enclosed for your information. Please send any comments to Billie Campbell at bcampbell@tjpdc.org by April 4.
